Why Platform Engineering And Consulting Exists
Platform Engineering was established to address a persistent gap in the DFW structural engineering market: the need for a technically proficient, multi-state licensed firm that operates with the responsiveness of a dedicated partner rather than a large bureaucratic practice.
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex sits on some of the most challenging soil conditions in the country. Expansive clay soils shift with every drought cycle and rain event, cracking foundations and compromising structural integrity. Severe hailstorms cause billions in damage annually across the region. And the pace of development — residential subdivisions, commercial corridors, mixed-use projects — continues to accelerate, placing increasing demand on the engineering firms that support this growth.
Platform Engineering was built to meet that demand. From residential additions and foundation repair in Denton County to commercial tilt-wall design in Tarrant County and forensic investigations across the metroplex, our firm delivers the full spectrum of structural engineering services. We are not a generalist firm that occasionally handles structural work. Structural engineering is all we do, and every project benefits from that singular focus.

Ammar AL-Salami, PE
Ammar AL-Salami, PE, is the founder and principal engineer of Platform Engineering. A licensed Professional Engineer with active registrations across nine states, Ammar brings direct technical oversight to every project the firm undertakes — from residential foundation design in North Texas to commercial structural analysis for multi-state clients.
His engineering practice spans the full range of structural disciplines: residential and commercial design, foundation engineering for DFW's expansive clay soil conditions, forensic investigation of hail, wind, and moisture damage, load-bearing wall modifications, and permit-ready engineering drawings for contractors and architects. Ammar is also an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, integrating aerial assessment capabilities into the firm's inspection and forensic services.
Platform Engineering reflects Ammar's commitment to delivering technically rigorous, PE-stamped engineering without the bureaucratic overhead of larger firms.
